Performing Arts at Wellesley

Performing arts are a vibrant part of our timetable, with boys at all year levels experiencing the joy of music, drama, and dance.

Purpose-built spaces for creative expression

Classes use our spacious Performing Arts Suite, which includes a large music room, music studio, four separate specialised teaching rooms and a purpose-built studio for dance and drama. These dedicated facilities give boys the space and resources to explore their creative potential, whether they are learning an instrument, rehearsing a scene, or discovering movement through dance.

Performance opportunities throughout the year

There are many opportunities for boys to share their talents with others during the school year. The school productions involve all the boys, allowing them to develop skills and understanding in all aspects of Performing Arts. Touring performers also visit the school, inspiring boys with professional performances and workshops

A strong choral tradition

Our Bay Boys School Choir is open to boys in Years 6 to 8 boys, who audition to be part of the ensemble. Our Year 4-6 choir, the Kōtare Voices, requires no auditions and a great place for students to develop a sense of performance and singing as a group.

These choral groups, along with our school orchestra and rock bands, are part of the additional opportunities available to boys at Wellesley.
